レフ・トルストイ Lev(Leo) Tolstoy(1828 – 1910)

ロシアの小説家・思想家。ドストエフスキーと共に19世紀ロシア文学を代表する巨匠。大学を中退後、しばらく放蕩するが、従軍を機に処女作『幼年時代』等を発表し、賞賛を受ける。帰還後、領地の農民の教育事業に情熱を注ぎ、1862年の幸福な結婚を経て、代表作『戦争と平和』『アンナ・カレーニナ』を完成させた。
